One of the busiest holiday weekends of the summer is on the horizon! Kick-off this long weekend with some of our most exciting plans yet. Keep reading to find out how you can stay cool, have fun, and make some memories!

Thursday, May 22

  • Themed Thursday at Wine Knot Sky Bar & Lounge: Join Wine Knot for a theme-Thursday party! Welcome in summer like they do in the Hamptons with an all-white outfit, a glass of wine, and a night to give back! Bring one personal hygiene item to donate to a women’s shelter.

  • Adult Craft Camp at Satellite Lounge: Fall down the rabbit hole with Crafted Outpost for Adult Craft Camp! Make a spring mushroom moon wreath, grab a bite or a drink, and craft beneath the summer sky in the beer garden.

  • Cathy Ladman Comedy Show at Thalian Hall: Laugh the night away with one of the country’s most famous comedians, Cathy Ladman! Featured on The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show, and a variety of HBO shows, this is a night you won’t want to miss. The show begins at 7:30pm.

  • Pick Your Own Project at The Bazar: Dust off your DIY skills with a handmade suncatcher! The Salty Sea Shed is offering a hands-on workshop appropriate for all skill levels. Materials will be provided and are included in the ticket price.

  • Vegan Eats Community Dinner at DREAMS Center for Arts Education: A free, homecooked vegan meal…. it’s what DREAMS are made of! Whether you are familiar with the vegan diet or just want to try something new, the DREAMS Center can’t wait to enjoy a meal with you. This event is open to all.

  • Group Hypnosis & Reiki at Healing Leaves Holistic Center: Come back to your best self with a night of deep relaxation, sound healing, and hypno-meditation. Head into the weekend as your best, most rejuvenated self! Spots are limited so sign up today.

  • 2nd Annual Casino Night at Hi-Wire Brewing: Feeling lucky? Put it to the test at Hi-Wire’s Casino Night fundraiser! Enjoy food, drinks, and gaming in support of Northside Food Co-Op. Tickets are available today!

  • Memorial Day Celebration at Tap Yard: Party all weekend long at Tap Yard! Listen to live music, enjoy family-friendly fun, and sip on a cold beverage! Festivities on Saturday begin at 3pm.

  • Memorial Day March at MissionFit: Honor Memorial Day with MissionFit for a march to Jimmy’s at the beach! March to give back to Canines for Service and enjoy raffles, drinks, and music at Jimmy’s. Don’t forget your American flag!

  • 4th Annual Molewood Derby at Mad Mole Brewing: Start those engines, Wilmington! Mad Mole’s Molewood Derby is back for their fourth year in a row at this BYOC — bring your own car! — event! Racing starts at 1pm sharp.

  • May Garden Party at Waterline Brewing Company: It’s Waterline’s first-ever garden party! This packed day will include a plant swap party, a build-your-own-succulent-bowl experience, Botanical Coffee Bar, and more. Stop by from 12-4pm!

Sunday, May 25

  • Cape Fear Vintage Market at The Eagle’s Dare: Shop vintage from more than 20 vendors at The Eagle’s Dare! Get a taste of classic streetwear as you enjoy a light bite or beverage and shop the day away! Shop from 1-6pm.

  • Patriotic Pop-Up at Marina Grill: The WAVE Market is coming to the Marina District! Check out local vendors, live music, beverages, bites, and more from 11am-3pm. Hungry? Grab brunch at the Marina Grill, too!

  • 3rd Anniversary Celebration at Wilmington Tattoo & Piercing: Nothing says “celebration” like a new tattoo or piercing! Pick out a $40 flash tattoo or piercing, check out some merchandise, and enter a raffle giveaway! Stop by from 10am-10pm.

  • Barking Beauties at Waterline Brewing Company: Pack up your pups and give back to Paws Place Dog Rescue! Shop from pet vendors, grab a picture at the pet photo booth, and some goodies for the humans too! Owners and leashed dogs are welcome from 12-4pm.

  • Adult Play Date at Long Leaf Park: Who said you’re too old to play? Not at Long Leaf Park! Have the best kind of summer fun with hopscotch, sidewalk chalk, jump roping, and other classics from 1-3pm. Bring a game to share!

  • Disco or Die at Wine Knot Sky Lounge & Bar: It’s a 70s murder mystery party! Dress up in your groovy 70s garb and see if you can crack the case in this immersive, mysterious experience. Get a ticket today to be a character or observer!

  • Mike. at Live Oak Pavilion: Rapper and singer, Mike., is coming to Wilmington on his ‘Upside Down Tour Pt 2’. Tickets are still available, and doors open at 8:30

Monday, May 26

  • Wrightsville Beach Farmers’ Market: Start your Monday with fresh produce and coastal charm! From 8am–1pm, shop locally grown fruits and veggies, baked goods, artisan coffee, handmade items, and more. Held every Monday through December, rain or shine!

  • Dave & Buster’s Grand Opening: Game on, Wilmington! Dave & Buster’s is officially open, and the first 100 people in line at 11am get a Power Card with unlimited video games all day. Come for the games, stay for the wings—and maybe a little air hockey dominance.

  • Memorial Day Observance at Battleship NORTH CAROLINA: Join a powerful tribute aboard the USS North Carolina as the community honors our fallen heroes. Expect a military speaker, 21-gun salute, Color Guard, and more. Free to board at 3pm, with the ceremony beginning at 4pm. Weather permitting, and hearts full.

Port City Shakedown to kick off Carolina Beach Boardwalk Blast: Carolina Boardwalk Blast is kicking off for the summer this Friday with a free concert from Port City Shakedown and fireworks! After its Memorial Day kick-off, the Boardwalk blast will be weekly on Thursdays.

Hurricane Season Begins June 1: Hurricane season is coming and it’s going to be a big one! Make sure you’re prepared for when the the storms start rolling in — pack your kit with first aid supplies, nonperishables, battery-powered light sources, and more! The season begins on June 1 and will run through November.

Girls with Dough to expand with downtown location: Girls with Dough, a local favorite pizza place, is opening a new location downtown: Girls with Downtown Dough. The new restaurant will be located in the Metropolitan at the Riverwalk apartment complex with construction set to begin in June.
