WILMA Dash at Wilmington Convention Center: Ladies, this one’s for you! Lace-up your running shoes and join WILMA Magazine for Wilmington’s WOMEN-ONLY 5k tonight at 6:30pm! Running not your thing? No worries — the Health Fest is open for all to enjoy vendors, food, drinks, and more!
Comedy Night at Kindred Weddings and Events: The best things in life are often funny… and free! Comedy Night at Kindred is both. Head over at 6pm for a drink and a free comedy showcase! Entry is free, donations are encouraged!
Doodle Club at Hi-Wire Brewing Company: Return to your artsy side for Doodle Club tonight! Whether you’re the muse (get your caricature done!), are an artist yourself (doodle away!), or a connoisseur (buy some local art!), they have something for you! Stop by from 6-8pm.
Celebrate the Venus Fly Trap Statue at Courtyard by Marriott: Wilmington, NC is the only place in the world where Venus Fly Traps grow naturally! Outlander in the Cape Fear Walking Tour at Burgwin-Wright House & Gardens: Hit the streets of downtown to see the best part of one of your favorite series, “Outlander”, and learn about the real Scottish history of Colonial Wilmington! Historical Fashion Showcase at Latimer House: Take a tour to see the very best Victorian fashion and history of the Latimer family! Weave through the rooms and generations of the famous Latimer House — you’ll even get to take a themed photo of your own! Get your ticket today!

Outlander in the Cape Fear aboard Wilmington Water Tours: Come aboard Wilmington Water Tours for a presentation of Outlander in the Cape Fear by Hunter Ingram, Assistant Director at Burgwin-Wright Museum. Based on the books and TV series, Hunter Ingram will share how Wilmington played a role in the series.
Kids Making It Fundraiser: Join Amplifly Fitness Studio for a FREE COMMUNITY CLASS from 11-1. Donations will be accepted, with all proceeds going to Kids Making It. Class consists of 30 minutes of indoor cycling, 30 minutes of strength training, and 30 minutes of yoga. All are welcome! No experience needed.
Mothers Day Market at Wrightsville Beach Brewery: Need a last-minute gift for the special mom in your life? No worries — Wrightsville Beach Brewery has you covered! Stop by from 1-5pm for some live music, local vendors, and light bites!
Caribbean Fest at Waterline Brewing Company: Spice up your weekend with the Caribbean Fest! Listen to live music, enjoy a Latin dance performance, try some authentic Caribbean food from local vendors, and play a game or two! Festivities will begin at 4pm — children under 12 are FREE!
Annual White Elephant Yard Sale at Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens: Peruse a little bit of everything at the annual yard sale to benefit the Burgwin-Wright House! Sale items will include houseware, books, vintage and antique novelties, and more! Shopping will be from 8am-2pm.
Free Mom Hugs at One-Stop Mood Shop: For some, Mother’s Day can be complicated. No matter the reason, or if your mom just won’t be around this weekend, stop by for some free mom hugs and some good old-fashioned comfort! Real moms will be available for a chat and a hug from 12-3pm.

Mom’s Skate Free! at Scooters Family Skating Center: Get out of your comfort zone and get ready to roll through Mother’s Day! Mom’s skate for free at Scooters this Sunday from 2-5pm — includes skating and skate rentals!

North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher closing this fall for expansion: The NC Aquarium was recently awarded $65 million to expand — the first expansion in 20 years! The new addition will feature a new shark habitat, an interactive touch pool, a live coral reef, and more.
Michael’s Seafood Restaurant is named in the top 100 family-friendly restaurants: Yelp just released their Top 100 Family-Friendly Restaurants, with Michael’s Seafood coming in at 83rd on the list! The Carolina Beach staple is one of only three NC restaurants to make the list.
Port City Highland Games set return date: The Port City Highland Games — hosted by the Scottish Society of Wilmington — are returning on May 31! The Games honor the strong Scottish roots that have formed Wilmington culture and celebrate with a variety of games, educational exhibits, music, dance, and more!
